Individuals

I work with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship distress, the effects of trauma, grief, and the impacts of issues arising from the family you grew up in.

Together, we will focus on what is going on in your current life, and examine the role your past may play.

I work from a trauma informed perspective. By trauma, Iā€™m referring to events, relationships and or experiences in your life that overwhelmed you, that you tried to handle on your own, and that adversely impacted your functionality as well as your emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being.

In practical terms, navigating difficult events or relationships from childhood to adulthood results in the creation of unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. These patterns initially serve to protect and defend us from the pain of our experiences. Over time they outlive their utility, and we find ourselves wondering how we got here, and how to move forward.

Therapy is designed to help you increase awareness of your emotional life, and of your thinking and behavioral patterns so that you can become freer to make choices that better reflect who you truly are in your current life and relationships.
